The alternative bookstore I was going to pre-order from was Borders, which is more books/dvds/music and also has a Gloria Jeans Coffee shop smack bang in the centre of it. Sitting and reading the book in a coffee shop is awfully tempting, but no doubt there will be a fair bit of noise and chaos so I eventually decided against it… I’ll just make my own coffee here. Cheaper too! After spending $50 on the book, gotta save money somewhere. XD
After I’ve shown off in my costume a bit and secure the book, I’m in the first cab home. My housemates are baffled that I’m taking the entire day off work. But come on! It’s only one day, a day that I might not have even been working in the first place. And I get heaps of kids in at work and no doubt a lot of customers will be talking about the book. I don’t want to have to endure that, knowing that my book is out in my locker. I’m just a sook, basically. XD
Oh, A&R called me the other day at work asking what cover I wanted – kids, or adult. Has anyone else seen the adult covers? I never had until just recently. Is it just me, or are they incredibly boring??
Anyhoo. That’s my July 21st. I’m so excited. I can’t wait to devour this book.
Oh, and can anyone point me in the direction of one of those book chapter countdown communities? I fully intend on participating.
My July 21st is roughly planned out. I’ve pre-ordered the final book from Angus and Robinson. I had a hard time picking which book store because there’s, like, three major book stores in my local shopping mall. I picked A&R because that’s where I go to get books when I can’t get them from the library, most of the staff seem very sweet and they all have to dress up on the release date. They also encourage people coming in to buy the book to dress up, and offer a prize for a best dressed. So it’s not a midnight release party but should still be a bit of fun. I’m hoping to involve my two nieces on the day. ^.^
